Description

The old villa (18+4 sleeping accommodations) stands on a hill covered with olive trees in the heart of the Valdichiana, close to Marciano della Chiana, an ancient medieval village renowned in history for having been the theatre of the battle of Scannagallo in 1554.

The villa overlooks the valley and Cortona, Castiglion and the castle of Montecchio are to be seen in the distance.

The frescoes emerged in the last renovation works are a testimony of the history of the building.

A small cottage is beside the main building.

The villa is surrounded by a 2-hectare fenced park with wide lawns and olive trees, and by a natural woods featuring century-old ashes, oaks and cypresses. A large swimming pool (7x14 m) completes this suggestive corner of the Valdichiana.

The villa is the ideal lodging for those who want to relax as well as an excellent starting point for trips to the most important cities of art of central Italy: Rome, Florence, Cortona, Arezzo, Perugia, Assisi, Siena, Montalcino and Pienza.

Grocers`, restaurants, cafes, the post office and banks are in Marciano, a small village 1.5 kilometre from the villa. A bakery and a farmer market are 1 kilometre from the estate. The nearest supermarket and emergency ward are 8 kilometres away.
