Description

The villa, a historic residence dating from the 18th century, is located in the municipality of Rignano sull`Arno, in Upper Valdarno, just a few kilometres from Florence. In the 1930s the famous physicist Enrico Fermi chose it as his summer residence.

The building lies in a 40-hectare estate and is surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, and by a wide park dotted with century-old plants.

Standing in panoramic position 300 metres above sea level, the villa commands the wonderful Valdarno region, Pratomagno mountains and the hills of Chianti.

A stay at the villa offers many entertainment opportunities: from walks and horseback excursions in the surrounding countryside to visits to the most famous Tuscan cities of art (Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Arezzo), from amusing tennis matches at the nearby tennis club to excursions in the Parco Nazionale delle Foreste Casentinesi.

With its large rooms, the sober furniture and the wide park, the villa is also an excellent location for weddings and ceremonies.

Guests have the opportunity to buy the wine, olive oil, fruit and vegetables produced in the farm.


The Outdoors

The private swimming pool (12x6 m; depth: 1.50 m) that lies in the wide garden is exclusively reserved to guests. The pool side is equipped with gazebos and deck chairs.
In the garden are also the barbecue equipment and a table for having meals al fresco.
The villa features a children`s playground with swing and tricycles.

The villa is a two-storey building; it sleeps 12 people in 5 double bedrooms and 1 double sofa bed, and has 4 bathrooms.
The villa composes of equipped kitchen, three large living rooms with fireplace, five double bedrooms (one with a double sofa bed) and four bathrooms.
