Description

The luxury villa (4 sleeping accommodations) is immersed in the green countryside rolling on the gentle Tuscan hills, in the heart of the Sienese Chianti district and is approached by driving along a drive lined with cypresses and ending with an obelisk. The 13th-century building was part of an estate belonging to the powerful Piccolomini family, a Sienese house whose most important representative is certainly Enea Silvio Piccolomini, who ascended the papal throne with the name of Pius II. The villa has been recently renovated and the interiors are an elegant blend of ancient and modern, in which period furniture and antiques coexist with the most modern comforts (satellite TV, CD player, DVD player, washing machine, dishwasher, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, heated towel rails, independent heating system). The swimming pool (not in exlcusive use), situated in the garden a few metres from the building and overlooking the hills covered with vineyards for the production of the well renowned Chianti wine, and the barbecue equipment are at guests` disposal. Not only is the villa the ideal accommodation for those who want to relax in one of the most beautiful Italian regions, it is also an excellent starting point for visiting many important cities of art and culture: Florence, Siena, Volterra, Cotona, Arezzo, San Gimignano and Pienza are all within easy car distance. Those who prefer healthy holidays can visit the spas in Rapolano Terme, a mere 15-minute drive from the villa. Riding stables and mountain bike hiring facility in neighbourhood. Possibility of tasting wine and Tuscan extra-virgin olive oil in the numerous farms open to visit and of attending Tuscan cooking classes. Adventure lovers can experience ballooning.


Accommodation

The villa (2 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms) spreads out over two floors. On the ground floor there are a living room with elegant sofas, a fireplace, satellite TV, CD player and walls decorated with antique prints, an open plan fully equipped kitchen and dining room and a half bathroom. On the first floor there are 1 double bedroom, 1 twin-bedded room and 1 bathroom with bathtub. All the rooms of the villa offer a breathtaking view of the surrounding hills. The patio is furnished with table and chairs for dining al fresco.

The villa is provided with a swimming pool (not in exclusive use of the guests) furnished with sunloungers for spending pleasant days lying under the Tuscan sun, satellite TV, barbecue equipment, CD player, DVD player, washing machine, dishwasher, hairdryer, independent heating system, iron and ironing board.
