Description

The farmhouse is situated in Maremma, in Sorano (Grosseto), a small town of Etruscan origin renowned for one of the most important rocky settlements in Italy, that of Vitozza. Many Etruscan archaeological sites are in the neighbourhood of the farmhouse. Sovana, Pitigliano, Saturnia and Lake Bolsena are easily reached by car. The wellness centre Terme di Sorano, a tennis club and a riding stable are just a few kilometres from the farmhouse.

The imposing tufa peasant house was built in the 18th century and has been recently renovated.
The building clings to a tufa face where 3,000 years ago the Etruscans dug many caves.


The Outdoors

On the lower terrace of the property are the entrances to the caves, a wood-burning oven, a well and the private swimming pool (5x10 m; depth: 1.25-1.35 m).
Next to the farmhouse stands an annex with a room featuring a beamed ceiling and a wooden floor, where guests can organize dinners and parties.
The upper terrace is a strip of land with a vegetable garden and an orchard for the production of organic fruit and vegetables.


Accommodation

The farmhouse is a two-storey building; it sleeps 10+6 people in 3 double bedrooms, 2 twin bedrooms, 2 single sofa beds and 4 supplementary single beds, and has 3 bathrooms.
On the ground floor is an apartment composed of kitchen, living room with two single sofa beds, a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and two bathrooms.
On the first floor is a second apartment composed of kitchen, living room, two double bedrooms, a twin bedroom and a bathroom.
Four supplementary single beds can be added in the bedrooms.

The farmhouse is equipped with swimming pool, barbecue, working fireplace, Internet connection, puzzles and books for children, oven, wood-burning oven, dishwasher, washing machine, bicycles and private car parking place.
A baby-sitter, a maid and a breakfast service are available upon request.
