Description

The farmhouse is located in Monterufoli Nature Reserve, in the municipality of Pomarance (Pisa), in Val di Cecina. Many paths stretch around the building, which in the origin was a hermitage, for wonderful walks and mountain-bike excursions in the woods of Val di Cecina.

The ideal accommodation for relaxing vacations in close contact with nature, the farmhouse is also an excellent departure point for one-day trips to the nearby medieval villages of Micciano and Querceto, as well as to Volterra, Pisa, Livorno, Lucca, San Gimignano and Siena.
The sea of Cecina and the Etruscan Coast, which are visible in the distance from the garden, are easily reached by car.

The ancient building has been carefully renovated and the bedrooms have been organized according to the principles of "feng-shui".


The Outdoors

Especially young guests, who can play bowls or volleyball in the private pitches, will appreciate a stay at the farmhouse.

The villa is surrounded by a 45-hectare wood with a picturesque lake with water lilies (from which the friars who lived in the hermitage drew water in the past).

The private swimming pool (9.50x5.50 m; depth: 1.35 m) equipped with deck chairs and sunshades, a small whirlpool swimming pool and the large panoramic terrace are at guests` disposal.


Accommodation

The farmhouse is a four-storey building; it sleeps 26 in 2 bedrooms with six beds, 3 quadruple bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom, and has 6 bathrooms and 1 half bathroom. The owners, however, prefer to accommodate maximum 20 people.

On the ground floor are the large kitchen; a wide dining room with fireplace that overlooks the sea; a large living room with fireplace and terracotta stove that overlooks the sea; a second living room; a room with a double bed (convertible into two single beds upon request), a double sofa bed and an ensuite bathroom with shower; a second bathroom with shower.
The first floor composes of a room with a double bed (convertible into two single beds upon request), two double sofa beds and an ensuite bathroom with shower; a room with a canopied double bed, a double sofa bed and an ensuite bathroom with shower; a bedroom sleeping six in three bunk beds with an ensuite bathroom; a room with two single beds (convertible into a double bed upon request) with an ensuite half bathroom.
In the tower is a room with a double bed (convertible into two single beds upon request), a double sofa bed and an ensuite bathroom with bathtub.
On the basement floor is the so-called "sacred cave", where guests can taste wines.

The farmhouse is equipped with swimming pool, whirlpool swimming pool, barbecue, wood-burning oven, volleyball pitch, bowls pitch, swing, working fireplace, satellite TV, DVD player, Internet connection, fridge, freezer, oven, microwave oven, dishwasher, washing machine, bicycles and private car parking space.
A baby-sitter, a cook and a maid are available upon request.
