Description

The farmhouse (10+4 sleeping accommodations) is an old 19th-century oil-mill that has been completely renovated with an eye to preserving its original design features. The farmhouse stands on the side of Mount Gualandro, between Cortona and lake Trasimeno.

A medieval castle stands atop the hill at its back, whereas frontwards the farmhouse enjoys a magnificent view over lake Trasimeno and the Valdichiana region.


Accommodation

The complex (10+4 sleeping accommodations - 230 m² - 5 bedrooms + 3 sofa beds and 4 bathrooms with hydromassage) composes of the main house and an annex.

The three-storey main house has direct access from the garden.
On the ground floor is the daytime area, featuring a large living room with a beautiful brick arch, a stone fireplace and a double sofa bed; the stone kitchen equipped with appliances and accessories; and a bathroom in pietra serena with two wash basins and shower.
On the first floor are a small living room with stone fireplace and super-single sofa bed; 2 bedrooms (one double bedroom and one twin bedroom) decorated with frescoes reproducing views of the adjacent castle and of the surrounding landscape; and a bathroom with whirlpool shower.
In the mansard on the second floor are 1 double bedroom with canopied bed and an old writing-desk and decorated with a trompe l`oeil reproducing the panorama that is to be admired from the window, which opens onto lake Trasimeno; 1 twin-bedded room, which originally was a grain drying room; and a bathroom with whirlpool bathtub and shower.

The adjacent annex features a large porch giving an impressive view over the surrounding countryside. The porch is of exclusive use of the annex.
On the ground floor are a cosy living room with stone fireplace and sofa bed; the fully equipped kitchen entirely tiled with hand-painted tiles; and the bathroom with whirlpool shower.
On the first floor is a large double bedroom with wrought-iron bed, single sofa bed, beamed ceiling and a window opening onto the impressive surrounding landscape.


Facilities

The farmhouse is provided with air conditioning, independent heating, alarm and satellite TV. Surrounded by century-old olive trees, the swimming pool (18x7 m) is provided with a night lighting system.
