Description

The structure (12+2 sleeping accommodations) is situated in a historical castle built during the 11th century to protect the surrounding lands. The castle stands 400 metres above sea level and 20 kilometres from Florence city centre. The building is surrounded by 200 hectares of olive groves and vineyards and by an Italian garden with the swimming pool (6x12 m) and a dressing room with shower, which are at guests` disposal. Part of the swimming pool has been built inside the lemon-house and part outside. The castle has been completely renovated, decorated with ancient precious furnishings and provided with all comforts (TV, dishwasher, washing machine, hydromassage). In the past, many celebrities stayed in the castle, such as Gioacchino Rossini, Giosué Carducci and Enrico Fermi. Possibility of purchasing the extra-virgin olive oil, grappa, vinsanto and the Chianti Colli Fiorentini wine produced in the farm. Organization of tasting with experts and cooking courses. Baby-sitting, laundry, cooking and maid services available upon request. Florence city centre can be reached by train from Pontassieve and Rignano sull`Arno railway stations. The villa is an excellent starting point for trips to many less-known Tuscan towns, such as Poppi, Caprese Michelangelo, Chiusi della Verna and Monterchi, as well as to famous cities of art, such as Siena, Arezzo, Prato and Pistoia.


Accommodation

The villa (4 double bedrooms + 2 double suites + 2 single sofa beds and 6 bathrooms) spreads out over four floors.
The ground floor composes of kitchen, dining room, two living rooms (one is very large and features two single sofa beds), 1 bathroom with shower, 1 bathroom accessible to disabled people (open upon request) and 1 toilet.
The first floor consists in a small living room, 1 double suite with dedicated bathroom with shower and bathtub, 2 bedrooms with two single beds and 1 bathroom with hydromassage shower.
The second floor composes of laundry room, reading room, 1 double suite with dedicated bathroom with bathtub, 2 bedrooms with two single beds and 1 bathroom with shower and bathtub.
The third floor consists in a large living room with TV set, billiard and game table.

The villa is provided with partially covered swimming pool with dressing room and shower, TV, billiard table, dishwasher, washing machine, telephone and hydromassage shower. Cooking, baby-sitting, laundry and maid services are available upon request. Possibility of purchasing the products of the farm. Organization of cooking courses and tasting with experts.
