Description

The elegant villa is immersed in the chestnut, oak and fir woods that cover the Tuscan Apennines and surround Barberino di Mugello (Florence). In origin, the villa was a castle at the border of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany.
With its varied landscape in which wooded mountains alternate with broad valleys and wide meadows, the Mugello region is an ideal holiday destination. Mugello is also rich in history and traditions, as demonstrate its ancient villas and the Medicean castles.
The villa is a severe building, which has been recently renovated with an eye to maintaining its original structure, so as to give guests the feeling of breathing the magic atmosphere of bygone times. The tower of the castle commands the valley of Mugello and Lake Bilancino.

Around the estate stretch many CAI-marked trekking trails (CAI is the Italian Alpine Club) for pleasant excursions in the woods. A few kilometres from the villa are two famous Medicean residences: the castle of Trebbio and the villa of Cafaggiolo. The villa is located in proximity to the motorway and is therefore an excellent departure point for one-day trips to Florence, Siena, Lucca, Arezzo and Pisa. Near the villa is also an outlet village that sells high fashion items at keen prices.


The Outdoors

The building stands at the centre of a wide fully fenced 5000-square-metre garden where guests can organize parties and ceremonies. A large berceau is furnished with table and chairs for guests to have their meals in the open air.
The private swimming pool (8x16 m; depth: 1.50-3.00 m) is equipped with sun loungers, deck chairs and a pietra serena bench. The pool side features also a shelter with table and chair.
The lawn at the back of the building is equipped with football goals and volleyball net.


Accommodation

The villa is a four-storey building; it sleeps 20+6 people in 4 double bedrooms, 7 twin bedrooms (2 with two large beds that can be used as double beds) and 1 double sofa bed, and has 7 bathrooms and 1 half bathroom.
The ground floor composes of a large hall with fireplace, a living room with fireplace, a sitting room with satellite TV, a twin bedroom and a bathroom.
In the basement are the kitchen, a small dining room with fireplace, a dining room with two tables, the laundry room and a half bathroom.
On the first floor are a living room with a big table, two double bedrooms (one with ensuite bathroom), two twin bedrooms and a bathroom.
The second floor composes of a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom, a twin bedroom with ensuite bathroom, two bedrooms with two large beds (1.50 m) that can be used as double beds and ensuite bathrooms and a suite consisting of a double and a twin bedroom.

The villa is equipped with swimming pool, football goals, volleyball net, working fireplaces, satellite TV, Internet connection, two ovens, microwave oven, two dishwashers, washing machine, ironing equipment, cot beds and private car parking place.
A baby-sitter, a cook and maid and breakfast services are available upon request.
