Description

Composing of the main villa and the adjoining annexe apartment, the 18th-century structure (12 sleeping accommodations) was built as an inn and overnight stopping point for tradesmen and travellers on their way towards the Tuscan coast. An ancient coat-of-arm representing a falcon is still to be admired on the façade of the villa. The building is surrounded by the olive trees that cover the hills in the neighbourhood of Cortona, a town boasting Etruscan origins but with a medieval centre south of Arezzo, in Valdichiana. Cortona is a mere 10 minute walk from the property. The villa is surrounded by a wide terraced garden rich in cypresses, mimosa and willow trees, where guests can relax and enjoy the wonderful panorama. The pool-terrace is at a lower level than the villa. In the garden there are also the barbecue equipment and a wood-burning oven for guests to prepare succulent pizzas. Upon request a cook prepares personalised meals. The interiors of the villa and of the adjoining annexe apartment are rich in period furniture and present some elements that are to be found in Tuscan country houses, such as brick archways, terracotta-tiled floors and beamed ceilings. The rooms are large and full of light. Both the villa and the adjoined annexe apartment are provided with all comforts (heating system, satellite TV, phone, Internet connection, dishwasher and washing machine). Many important Tuscan and Umbrian tourist destinations, such as Florence, Siena, Arezzo, Montepulciano, Gubbio, Assisi and Perugia, are within easy reach. Those who prefer dedicating themselves to wellness can visit the spas in Chianciano Terme.


Accommodation

The country house (6 double bedrooms and 6 bathrooms) is composed of the main villa (Villa) and an adjoining annexe apartment (Casale).

The Villa (8 beds - 4 double bedrooms and 4 bathrooms) spreads out over two floors. The ground floor composes of fully equipped kitchen, a large living room with a big fireplace and 1 toilette. In the living room decorated with brick archways, a French door opens onto the garden. From the living room a stone staircase leads to 1 bedroom with two single beds and en-suite bathroom on the mezzanine. The first floor composes of living room with fireplace, 2 double bedrooms, 1 bedroom with two single beds and 1 bathroom. One of the bedrooms on the first floor has an en-suite bathroom. The villa features also a sun-terrace, which can be accessed both from inside and outside the building.
The Casale (4 beds - 2 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms) composes of fully equipped kitchen, living/dining room with fireplace, antique sofa and armchairs, table sitting 6 people and an Art Nouveau-style glass-fronted dresser with writing desk, 2 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (one with shower and one with shower and bathtub).
