You have certainly already guessed it as you were reading the previous chapters of this tourist guide: Pisa calendar is full of dates to mark in red!

In March, on the 25th, is Pisa New Year`s Day, the day when a ray of sun enters the Duomo. Between May and June take place the most important Pisan folkloric events: the Luminara and the Palio of San Ranieri, the Gioco del Ponte and, every four years, the Regatta of the Ancient Maritime Republics. All of these events are held along the Arno.

In October, the town hosts Pisa Book Festival, dedicated to the independent publishing industry, and Dolcemente, whose protagonists are the typical Tuscan cakes and sweets. On this occasion, the best Tuscan confectioners present their latest creations; there you will also have the opportunity to discover, or re-discover, some traditional recipes.

Last but not least, in December there are the traditional Christmas street markets and the unmissable New Year`s Eve celebrations.

If you have rented a typical Tuscan countryside villa instead of a villa in Pisa ... you can visit some of the many feasts and festivals organised in the whole province.

Every year in March, Marliana hosts the sagra della frittella dolce, a feast dedicated to doughnuts; or you can visit the feast of the canapé that takes place in May in Palaia, the palio of Buti (January) and the "Disfida con l`arco", an archery contest held in Montopoli Val d`Arno in September. And the list could go on and on.

In short: Pisa is the perfect destination for your holidays all the year round!
