Until some years ago, it was really difficult to go back home from holidays with good photos. Indeed only a few people had professional cameras, and young tourists preferred to trust their "moments of glory" to small (and cheap) disposable cameras.
Nowadays, with the advent of digital cameras and new-generation mobiles anyone can take pictures at any time! Therefore, here are some pieces of advice for photography buffs.
If you are spending your holidays in one of the many villas on the hills around Florence and you want to photograph breathtaking panoramas, just open the window or go to the balcony.
If you have rented an apartment in Florence historic centre, either you simply decide to take pictures of Palazzo Vecchio, the Duomo, Santa Maria Novella and Ponte Vecchio (as if it was not enough!), or you go to Piazzale Michelangelo or up to hill of Fiesole.
Yet the city offers many other subjects for your postcards from Florence.
Those who like flowers can visit the Park of the Cascine or the Iris Garden. Those who like the old ancient times can take some black-and-white pictures of craftsmen at work in their workshops.
And do not forget to visit the Museo di Storia della Fotografia Fratelli Alinari.
