Are you wondering how to get to your apartment in Florence? In this page you will find some useful information.
The choice on how to get to Florence depends mainly on two factors: first of all, where the accommodation you have rented is situated; second, the place where you come from.
If you are travelling by car, you can take the motorway or the freeway.
If you are travelling from Rome or from Milan via the A1 motorway, you can exit at Firenze Sud, Firenze Certosa, Firenze Scandicci, Firenze Nord and Calenzano - Sesto Fiorentino.
If you are travelling from Pisa, Lucca, Pistoia or Prato via the A11 motorway, you can exit at Firenze Ovest, next to Florence airport, in Peretola.
If you are getting to Florence via one of the two freeways leading to the town of the lily, you can exit in proximity to Firenze Certosa (if you come from Siena) or Firenze Scandicci (if you come from Pisa or Livorno).
Thanks to the high speed rail line, the train could be an excellent solution if you are coming either from northern or southern Italy and you have rented an apartment in proximity to Santa Maria Novella railway station.
Moreover, Florence minor railway stations could prove to be useful, if you have decided to spend your holidays in one of the many villas on the hills around Florence and you want to visit the town of the lily.
Last but not least, if you are travelling by plane, you can fly directly to Florence airport (also known as Amerigo Vespucci airport); alternatively, you can fly to Pisa airport (otherwise known as Galileo Galilei airport) and then take a regional train to Santa Maria Novella railway station.
