Situated on the slope of Fiesole hill, Villa Il Roseto offers a wonderful view of Florence and of the Arno valley.
The villa was built in the late 19th-early 20th century by order of the Belgian paintress Consuelo De Jevenois. It is a quite simple and austere building, built in the typical Tuscan rustic style and surrounded by a gorgeous terraced garden.
The famous architect Giovanni Michelucci and his wife moved here in 1958. During the years they lived in Villa Il Roseto, Michelucci and his wife made only a few minor changes.
The villa is the headquarters of the "Fondazione Michelucci", a foundation the architect and his wife created in order to promote studies in the field of social architecture.
