Start then your visit to the Mugello villas and castles with Villa Demidoff and its lush parc embellished by fountains, artificial caves and statues. Walking around the paths of this garden will be a real pleasure and surpise.

In Scarperia you have to stop at Palazzo dei Vicari : the facade is a spectacle itself, all covered in armorial bearings of the families who were appointed vicars in Scarperia .Inside the palace you can stop and visit the Museo dei Ferri Taglienti (Museum of the Cutting Irons) of which Scarperia is traditionally producer.

Nearby San Piero a Sieve , you’ll see, surrounded by a beautiful Italian style garden the Trebbio Castle standing out on a hill: as soon as you get here, you’ll understand why this was one of Lorenzo the Magnificent’s favourite mansions.

Another castle you have to visit during your holidays in Mugello, is the Cafaggiolo Castle , in Barberino di Mugello. Here you’ll have the chance to take a walk in the big garden, exactly the same one where the Medici used to walk, surrounded by artists and famous people.
