Experienced people will guide you at the discovery of the most hidden corners. The woods of Casentino, Siena countryside dotted with medieval villages, the Costa degli Etruschi and the Maremma with its butteri (the cowboys of Tuscany!): tours in which man meets with nature, under the sun or under the rain (take rainproof clothes with you). But you can also stroll at night in the moonlight.
Some horse centres organize multi-day trekking tours: long and adventurous horse-back excursions in marvellous landscapes. At the end of day, after so many hours spent on the back of a horse a good meal and a comfortable bed will wait for you in a cosy Tuscan holiday farm. All tours include brief and relaxing stops in different places. If you do not want to take your luggage with you or if you prefer to spend the night always in the same place, some farms provide a shuttle service to their guests: at night you go back to the base and the next morning your horse is ready for a new tour. Do not make it wait for you!
Do you want to learn to ride a horse or simply improve your style? Most of holiday farms with riding stables in Tuscany have a riding school. You can learn to ride a horse English or American style, try to jump obstacles or ride a nice pony. Experienced teachers organize lessons for adults, teenagers and children.
