Description

The house stands in the centre of Torniella, a small medieval village founded around the year 1000. The house was built at the beginning of the 14th century and originally may have been one of the towers of the castle of Torniella.

Torniella is a village of 500 inhabitants situated about 450 metres above sea level where it is as if time has stopped in the 19th century.


The Outdoors

The private swimming pool (7.50x3.80 m; depth: 1.20 m) lies in the garden at the back of the house and equipped with a gazebo and a barbecue.

The three-storey house sleeps up to 12 people and features 5 bedrooms, 1 sofa bed, 4 bathrooms, 2 living rooms and 2 balconies.

First-floor apartment: 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and 1 kitchen/living room.
Second-floor and mansard apartment: 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 1 kitchen/living room with sofa bed and balcony.

The two communicating apartments can be rented to different families or to a single group of 12 people. The kitchen/living room in apartment Porcino is 35 m² and is furnished with a 12-seater table.

Distances

The house is in Upper Maremma and is an excellent accommodation for visiting San Galgano (10 km), the castle of Belagaio (10 km), Massa Marittima (35 km), Siena (40 km), the Maremma coast and the Maremma Natural Park (45 km), Montalcino (50 km) and the Chianti region (50 km). Val di Farma Natural Park is just 1 kilometre from the house. The park owes its name to the river that flows across its territory. There guests can hike and trek and have a dip by the Canaloni falls.
